AuthorFest 2026 – Refund Policy

This Refund Policy forms part of the AuthorFest 2026 Terms & Conditions.

1. Cancellation by the Attendee

If you need to cancel your booking, please notify us in writing by email as soon as possible.

Refunds will be issued as follows:

More than 28 days before the event

You will receive a full refund, less a €25 administration fee.

Between 28 and 14 days before the event

You will receive a 50% refund of the ticket price.

Less than 14 days before the event

Unfortunately, no refund can be offered.

This is because accommodation, catering, venue costs, and other event expenses will already have been committed.

2. If We Can Fill Your Place

If you cancel your place and we are able to resell your ticket or offer it to someone on a waiting list, we will refund your ticket in full, less the €25 administration fee, regardless of when you cancel.

3. Transferring Your Ticket

If you are unable to attend, you may request to transfer your ticket to another person.

Transfers are subject to the organiser’s written approval and must be requested before the event begins.

The new attendee will be required to provide all relevant booking information, including any dietary or accessibility requirements.

4. Cancellation by the Organiser

If AuthorFest is cancelled by Novice to Novelist or Les Cabosses before the event takes place, attendees will receive a full refund of all monies paid.

Novice to Novelist and Les Cabosses cannot accept responsibility for any additional costs incurred by attendees, including (but not limited to) travel, accommodation booked independently, insurance, or other personal expenses.

5. Programme Changes

AuthorFest is a live event, and occasionally changes may be necessary. Changes to the programme, timetable, speakers, workshop topics or activities do not entitle attendees to a refund, provided the event itself continues to take place.

6. Force Majeure

If AuthorFest cannot take place or must be significantly altered, due to circumstances beyond the organiser’s reasonable control (including but not limited to severe weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, pandemics, or venue closure), every effort will be made to offer an alternative date or an appropriate refund.

7. Travel Insurance

If you are travelling from outside the local area or booking accommodation independently, we strongly recommend that you arrange appropriate travel insurance to cover cancellation, illness, and unexpected travel disruption.

8. Contact

All cancellation requests should be made by email to:

vicky@novicetonovelist.com

Refunds will normally be processed within 14 days of confirmation that a refund is due.
