The Writer’s Clarity Session is a focused, one-to-one, 90-minute session on Zoom designed to meet you exactly where you are in your writing.

This is a flexible, writer-led space with no fixed agenda. We decide together how best to use the time, based on what will move your work forward most effectively. This session is designed to be collaborative and practical.

How the Session Works

Before we meet, you’ll have the opportunity to briefly outline what you’d like to focus on. This can be a specific problem, a general sense of being stuck, or a skill you want to develop.

During the 90 minutes, we may:

  • brainstorm ideas
  • talk through your story, characters, or structure
  • unpick a problem that feels tangled or overwhelming
  • work through options and possibilities together
  • focus on a specific craft element (such as dialogue, point of view, pacing, or character voice)
  • zoom out to look at the bigger picture of your project
  • have a tailored, one-to-one mini lesson on an area of writing you want to strengthen
  • explore motivation, writer’s block, or imposter syndrome

The session will naturally flow between discussion, explanation, and practical guidance, depending on what you need.

What This Session Can Be Used For

  • Story or plot brainstorming
  • Character development
  • Structural or pacing issues
  • Clarifying a messy middle or uncertain opening
  • Craft-focused teaching (for example: dialogue, showing vs telling, narrative voice)
  • Gaining confidence and direction on a stalled project

Each session is tailored — no two sessions are the same. You don’t need a finished manuscript. If you’d like to share pages in advance, you’re welcome to do so, but it’s not required.

What You’ll Leave With

By the end of the session, you can expect:

  • greater clarity around your project or problem
  • practical next steps
  • a clearer understanding of your options
  • renewed confidence and momentum

Many writers find that this kind of focused, responsive conversation unlocks far more than weeks of solo overthinking.

If you’re not sure what you need but you know you need clarity, this session is designed for you.
