La Souterraine Creative Writing Workshops

Join us at the English Library in La Souterraine for a friendly, practical evening of writing, learning and creativity.

Our La Souterraine creative writing workshops currently take place on the last Monday of each month, moving to the first Monday of the month from January 2027, from 5pm–7pm at the English Library, 9 Rue Portail, La Souterraine.

Each month we explore a different aspect of creative writing, combining practical guidance, discussion and writing exercises so you can put what you learn straight into practice. The workshops are particularly suited to beginner and intermediate writers, whether you’re working on a novel, experimenting with short stories or poetry, returning to writing after a break, or simply looking to develop your skills.

The La Souterraine group is friendly, welcoming and community-focused, with plenty of opportunity to learn, write and connect with other writers. You don’t need to have attended previous workshops, and there’s no ongoing commitment — every session stands alone, so simply choose the workshop that interests you.

Price: €15 per person, per workshop (December sessions are free)
Refreshments: Provided

Advance booking isn’t essential — you’re always welcome to simply turn up on the day, subject to space. However, if you’d prefer to secure your place and pay in advance, select your chosen workshop from the options above.

Please bring something to write with and whatever you prefer to write on — notebook, laptop, or tablet are all absolutely fine.
